For awhile, we will continue to gather in homes to worship, study, and fellowship. If the Lord wills it, we will expand into a facility at some point in the future.
We want to live our lives in ways that reflect authentic biblical community. Because of this desire, we encourage one another, rejoice with one another, and comfort one another. We hold ourselves accountable to one another because, since the Church is a body that is made up of parts, we can’t fully be who God has called us to be if one of us is walking outside of our design.
We want to live lives that are purposefully missional, especially in our community. This means that we want to battle against the suburban tendency to focus itself inward on the family unit and turn that focus outwardly on the community. It also means that we battle the pattern of withdraw from culture and society that has plagued the Church for the last 40-60 years. We are called to be a light in the darkness, shining the light of the Gospel of Jesus to the world around us. (Matt 5:14-16)
So, expect to feel a little uncomfortable. If we were always comfortable, we wouldn’t need the Comforter. But expect to be loved, cherished, and utilized to serve our great God and King, Jesus Christ.
